Stephanie Catherine Dellamura, 76, of Merrick, NY
Died May 4, 2024 in Glen Cove, NY
Stephanie was born in 1948 in Flushing, NY, to Vincent and Geraldine Pilinko. She grew up in a very full and loving household with her grandmother "Kate", her parents, and siblings Vinny, Valerie, Larry, Gene and Hilary. Her home was just steps away from her beloved cousins, Cathy, Stan, Jeff, and Joe.
In her youth, Stephanie loved music, dancing, and time with friends, which included her siblings and cousins. They spent summers together, going to the beach in Sag Harbor, to drive-in movies, and going out dancing. Stephanie graduated from St. Agnes Catholic High School in College Point. She was drawn to the beauty industry, became a professional hair colorist, and even placed in a school beauty contest. She worked in a local hair salon for many years.
Stephanie married Frank Dellamura in 1971, and lived in Hicksville, NY. After a short time, they started a family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their four daughters Tracy, Farah, Kim, and Lauren soon blessed their lives.
The family moved back to Long Island after their youngest was born. Stephanie enjoyed working for Chase Manhattan Bank, and then 1-800-Flowers in Fraud Prevention. It was there that she discovered her love of plants and flowers and kept a beautiful garden in Ronkonkoma. Eventually, she was blessed with her grandchildren, Sofia, Morgan, Olivia, Johnny, Catherine, and Mackenzie, and her great-grandson Colin. In retirement, Stephanie loved scrapbooking and making greeting cards for friends and family. Ever the math-whiz, Stephanie enjoyed challenging number and word puzzles, reading mysteries, watching crime shows, and enjoying her children's and grandchildren's milestones. Stephanie most enjoyed family and holiday celebrations, especially when those classic oldies were played. She couldn't resist singing, swaying, and smiling to these songs and knew every word by heart. A simple and sweet, hot cup of coffee always made Stephanie happy!
Stephanie is pre-deceased by her husband Frank Dellamura, her beloved daughter Kimberly Dellamura, her brother Vincent Pilinko, and her dear cousin Cathy Abravaya. She is survived by her loving daughters, Tracy Lanese, Farah Dellamura, Lauren Laffin, and her grandchildren, Sofia Lanese, Morgan Dellamura, Olivia Riordan, Johnny Laffin, Catherine Laffin, Mackenzie Dellamura, and her great-grandson Colin Woodbury.
Mass, Tuesday 10:30am 5/7/24 at the Church of St. James, 80 Hicksville Road, Seaford, NY.
