Mary A. Moynihan (nee Gilmartin) of Charlottesville, VA (formerly of NY), passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 in her 89th year.  Preceded in death by her loving husband, John and son, Jeremiah Patrick.

Survived by her children, Sean (Pam), Maureen  Nicholson (Bob), Damian (Laura) and daughter-in-law, Oknae; eight grandchildren – Debbra, Kimberly, Jennifer Wynn (Kent), Brian (Rachel), Courtney Nicholson, Bobby Nicholson (Caitlin), Lindsay and John; four great-grandchildren – Callum, Leah, Reese and Avery.

Mary was born in Sligo, Ireland and was very proud of her Irish heritage.  She had a heart of gold and always made sure that everyone was well taken care of.  She loved to laugh and tell a joke with a twinkle in her eye.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 2 pm – to 6 pm at the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY 11542.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church in Glen Cove, NY.  Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the following charities: Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Piedmont or the ASPCA.
