It is with great sadness that the family of Marguerite Zavaro announces her passing on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born to the late Grace and late James (Irish), Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Matthew Zavaro. She was the sister of the late Eilen Boris, the late James Fanning (late Helen), and John Fanning (Bettyann). She was a devoted mother to Cindy Larice, the late Gay-Marie Zavaro, the late Joy-Marie Zavaro, Matthew Zavaro Jr. (Diane), Kim Kern (Mike Grella), and Alex Kern. She was the loving grandmother of Christopher Larice (Kristin), Alexa Kern, Nicole Benson, Melanie Benson, Patrick Kern (Daniella), and Maxx Kern, and the adoring great-grandmother of Emerson, Logan, Averi, Liam and Savannah Marie.

Marguerite was the heart and matriarch of her family strong-willed, protective, and endlessly loving. She dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love. Known for her contagious laugh, radiant smile, and spirited personality, she brought joy to every gathering and was truly the life of the party.

At 95 years young, Marguerite remained strong as a bull and full of energy. She enjoyed simple pleasures, especially her daily indulgence of Hershey's chocolate, which she fondly called her "therapist." Her strength, kindness, and humor will be remembered by all who knew her.

She now joins her beloved husband Matt, her daughters Gay and Joy, and many other family members and friends in eternal rest. Her memory will forever be cherished and her legacy of love will continue to guide her family.

As per Marguerite's wishes, a burial ceremony will be held at Holy Rood Cemetery (111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590) on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to come and pay their last respects. The site location is Section 22, Lot A, Grave 54. Marguerite will be laid to rest alongside her husband Matt and daughters Gay and Joy.
