Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Cryan Cavaluzzo May 12, 1961 – April 21, 2026

Margaret Cryan Cavaluzzo — known and loved by all as Peggy — passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 64. A lifelong Long Islander, Peggy was born in Glen Cove, New York, and made her home in Glenwood Landing, where she filled every room she walked into with warmth, laughter, and an open heart.

Peggy was the devoted partner of Richard, and above all else, a proud and fiercely loving mother to her children, Charlie and Kenzie. Her love for them never wavered — her greatest joys in life came from supporting, encouraging, and simply being with them. She was their biggest champion, and everything she did, she did with them at the center of her heart.

She was the cherished daughter of Brendan and Virginia, and beloved sister to Kathy, Brenda, Penny, Devin, and Matthew. To her many nieces and nephews, she was an adoring aunt — the kind you never forgot.

Those who knew Peggy knew her door was always open. Whether someone needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just a place to be, Peggy was there — without hesitation, without judgment, and always with love. She had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for, and her home was a place where anyone could find comfort.

Peggy found beauty in life's simple pleasures: a stunning sunset, the warmth of the sun on her face, a White Russian shared over dinner with the people she loved, and settling in for her favorite shows. When Peggy loved something, she loved it completely — with passion, humor, and a spirit that was entirely her own. Her strength, her laugh, and her all-around great vibe were magnetic, and they touched everyone lucky enough to know her.

Her absence leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. But her love, her kindness, and her guiding spirit are something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. We owe it all to her.
