Obituary

Lee Calamari  was a terrific wife to her husband Raymond of 57 years and a better mother to her four children.  Keeping control of a busy home of 4 young children wasn't enough as she always pushed herself to explore different interests.  Lee was an avid golfer, tennis player, bridge player, and a voracious reader.  Her thirst for education continued beyond her graduation from Cathedral High School in Manhattan to an associates degree in interior design from New York Institute of Technology coupled with a degree from The Long Island Feng Shui Institute.    Her talent in interior design was much appreciated by her long list of clients for the past 40 years.   Her interests also extended to business and finance excelling at investing for the long term.  "Know your product and learn the fundamentals of the company before you decide to invest with them."   This acumen for business contributed to an education fund that Ray and Lee set up for their 9 grandchildren who have successfully started to make their mark in the business, healthcare and entertainment fields.

Besides the unconditional love of her family, Lee was ever faithful to her friends as far back as childhood to present day.    Her religious faith in the Catholic Church ran deep and proved to be absolute comfort to her the last few weeks.   Leonora M. Calamari….truly a consequential woman.   We will miss you so much mom.

Devoted mother of Kathleen, Barbara (Louis) Turchioe, the late Patricia and Raymond (Chrissey). Loving grandmother of Caitlin, Maggie, Patrick, Ross, Paolo, Raymond, Nicole, Christopher and Jackie. Dear sister of Barett, the late Audrey, the late Patricia, the late Jay and the late Kevin.
