John Murray beloved husband of Josephine, father of Barbara Murphy, grandfather of Michael Patrick and Sean Tyler, great-grandfather of Myla, brother of Georgina Parrett, the late Mary Murray and the late Patricia Miller, uncle to Stephanie, Scott, Shawn, Marleen and Joe.

John was born in Glen Cove and was raised on an estate with his sisters where his parents were employed.
John was a volunteer fireman for the Glenwood Fire Department for over 60 years. He loved golfing enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzles and bike riding in his younger years. He was witty and had a smile that could light up a room with a snarky comment or a joke.
John will be missed by too many people to count, may his rest in peace.
Visitation Tuesday September 10, 3-7pm at the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen St, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Patrick Wednesday 10am, 235 Glen St, Glen Cove followed by interment at the East Hillside Cemetery in Glen Head.
