On Thursday, July 9, 2020, Jan Jakobsze, loving husband and father of three children, passed away peacefully at home at age 92. Jan was born on November 27, 1927 in Poland. He married his loving wife Helena on August 21, 1950. Together they had two sons, Andrew and Richard and one daughter, Agnieszka. Jan and Helina emigrated to the United States in 1964 where they raised their three children. Jan worked diligently in Local 66 for twenty-eight years to support his family. Jan was a soft spoken man devoted to his family he is survived by his wife, three children and four grandchildren. A wake will be held on Sunday July 12 at McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home in Glen Cove, 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass 9:30 am on Monday July 13, at Saint Hyacinth Church in Glen Head, NY. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
