Jimmy Ziegen passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021 surrounded by his wife Lisa, son's Tommy and Matthew, future daughter-in-law Brianna Leon and sister-in-law Christina Liptak.
A native son of Glen Cove, Jimmy worked for the Glen Cove Department of Public Works for almost 3 decades. Jimmy was an avid music lover from his early childhood, and enjoyed all genres of music, but his passion was classic rock. He attended dozens of Grateful Dead shows and never missed the Who when they were in town. He spent countless hours listening to and reading about his favorites bands and artists and was thrilled to share his vast knowledge of all things music.
Jimmy was a friend to all and a "therapist" to many, often called upon for help, to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on, he offered sage advice or kind words of comfort.
Jimmy is predeceased by his father Alfred (Bucky), mother Elizabeth (Betty Lou) and brothers Tommy and Ricky. He is survived by his loving family: wife Lisa, sons Tommy and Matthew, sisters Irene (Dominick) Pascucci and Kim (John) Burgan, nieces and nephews Jennifer, Maria, Rikki Lynne, Michael, Jamie, Amanda, Brian, Elizabeth and Jack and many cousins and dear friends he considered family.
Visitation at McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY 11542, Wednesday December 15 th , 3pm – 6pm. A celebration of Jimmy's life to be held at a later date.
