Ida Nastasi passed away on February 12th, 2025 at the Emerge Nursing Home Center. She was born on August 24, 1931 in Sicily, Italy to the late Michele Ferraro and Gaetana(Giarrusso) Ferraro. She was one of 7 children. Ida worked as a kindergarten teacher in Sicily, Italy. She came to America in 1964. On May 15,1965, Ida married her husband, Joseph Nastasi. They lived in Flushing Queens NY.    She had one daughter, Joanne, who married William G. Heman. Her two granddaughters are Jennifer and Emily Heman. Ida was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, nana and friend. She always made others feel loved and special. She will truly be missed.
Calling hours will be held on Monday February 17th, 2025 from 2-6pm at the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home 220 Glen St. Glen Cove, NY. Prayer service at 4pm.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 18th, 2025 at 9am at the funeral home, followed by a drive out to Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ida's memory to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
