Giovanni (John) DelVecchio, of Glen Cove, New York passed away on August 25, 2022. Loving partner of Patricia (Pat) Shanley. Beloved father of Paul (Nicole), Michael, and Matthew. Beloved grandfather of Maria, Amanda, Michael, Anthony, Antoinette, Paul and Rosalia. In addition to his children, John is survived by his sister, Carmen, and his many cousins including Olimpia (Tony), and Annarosa (Efrain).

Born in Naples, Italy, January 18, 1955.  He was proud to be a citizen of the United States.  John found true love when he met his partner, Pat. Together they traveled and truly enjoyed life.  John proudly and graciously served as the First Gentleman of the American Rose Society (ARS) during Pat's term as ARS President.  John was later honored to have a beautiful yellow rose named for him, the 'John DelVecchio' rose. His many rose friends brought him much joy and happiness.

Visitation is on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at McLaughlin Kramer, Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY. Funeral Mass is on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10 am at the Church of St. Patrick, 235 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY 11542. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Locust Valley Cemetery, Locust Valley, NY. Reception immediately following.
