Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fernando Antonio Iannacchino, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in the beautiful town of Sturno, Italy, In the Province of Avellino, Fernando brought with him the heart and spirit of his homeland when he came to build a life rooted in love, laughter, and dedication. He was the beloved husband of Concetta Iannacchino, who pre-deceased him, with whom he shared many cherished years filled with love, devotion, and companionship. Fernando is survived by his loving daughter Lina Scacco and son-in-law Gus Scacco, and their children Peter (Danielle) and Jacqueline Scacco, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his dear son Rocco Iannacchino and daughter-in-law Victoria, and their daughter Angelica Iannacchino, who brought him endless pride and joy. A devoted brother and brother-law, and a proud Uncle and Great Uncle to his beloved nieces and nephews.

A man of incredible work ethic and endless warmth, Fernando will be remembered for the stories he told, the jokes he shared, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. He had a beautiful operatic voice, and shared his gift in various choirs and performances. He had a passion for painting, a talent that reflected the creativity and care with which he approached life. He loved to travel, and as a young man, joined the circus and saw the world, something not too common in post WW II Italy. He enjoyed cooking traditional Italian meals, and took great pride in winning bocce games with his signature competitive spirit. Fernando also loved soccer, and was a fan of Napoli.

Fernando found great joy in playing scopa and tressette, traditional Italian card games, often surrounded by friends and family, always with a smile and a witty remark ready. His laughter and love will echo in the memories of every holiday, gathering, and Sunday meal.

Above all, Fernando was a man who loved deeply—his greatest pride was his family, and his greatest gift was the warmth he gave to them and to all who knew him.
His legacy lives on in the stories we share, the meals we cook, the games we play, and the love that binds his family together.

The family of Fernando Iannacchino would like to express their gratitude to the many care professionals who provided excellent medical care during Fernando's brief illness: in particular, RNs Kristen, Bianca, Tessa and the team from Northwell Health Hospice Care Network, Dr. Philip DeLuca and team from Family Medicine Physicians Partners Locust Valley and Ms. Judith Sutton.
