Dominick "Coach" Grosso of Glen Cove passed away on January 28, 2022. He was 77. Beloved husband of Diana "Disy" Grosso. Devoted father of Darin, Derek (Nicci) & Dustin (Michelle). Cherished grandfather "Papa" of Dahlia, Dominick, Michael & Hannah. Loving brother of Lucy (the late Louis) Ocello & Michael (Maryanne) & brother-in-law of Reggie (Coleen) Spinello. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. Born in Brooklyn to the late Peter and Maria, Dominick was raised in Queens and moved to Glen Cove to build a life with his bride of 48 years, Diana, where they raised three sons - and where he coached hundreds of kids through Glen Cove Jr. Baseball for nearly 40 years from the 1980s up until the present. Dom was known as "Coach" around Glen Cove and across Long Island. He was a proud Army veteran. In addition to his love of baseball he frequented many of the Italian clubs in Glen Cove. Always the center of attention and the life of the party, he lit up the room and everyone loved him for that! We will never forget his booming voice, his laugh, his generosity and especially his stories. Visitation on Wednesday 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen Street, Glen Cove. Mass at Church of St. Rocco on Thursday 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
