Carol MacVicar was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on October 20, 1943. She was number six of seven to Florence and Peter Torre. After marrying her late husband Lee MacVicar they moved to Bethpage, New York where they raised their three boys, Gregory, Lee John and Thomas. Carol passed away peacefully at her condo in Glen Cove on Monday morning, May 11, 2026, at 82 years old.
Carol was a proud American and New Yorker. She enjoyed telling stories about her childhood in Brooklyn. Their Frost Street Brownstone was a place of many happy memories for her. These stories played second fiddle to the ones she had readily available about her sons. Gregory, Lee John and Thomas who were the lights of her life. Then when grandchildren came along; Gregory, Amanda, Jacqueline and L.J.; it was a whole other mission of devotion for her.
Carol was the most self-sacrificing and selfless person this world was blessed to know. Being a wife, a mom & grandma were greatest joys. She gave her whole heart to everything she did. Her boys remember her as always being there for them and making sure they had whatever they needed, even if that meant her going without. The grandkids cherish all the love she gave them and for being part of all their ups and downs.
Carol enjoyed volunteering at St. Rocco's for their monthly breakfast and their yearly feast. She was so proud to be of service to both the church and the people of her community. She will be forever in our hearts.
